Built in the Bronx

A recording studio that grew into a soundstage, an event venue and a classroom, all inspired by the New York corner store.

Our story

La Bodega story

La Bodega is a Bronx original. Inspired by the culture and atmosphere of New York corner stores, it grew into a studio and event venue that serves the community in more ways than one.

Why the Bronx? Because we're all from the Bronx. We grew up on these blocks, and we built La Bodega to look and feel like them.

It opened in 2019 as a recording studio. Since then it has become a soundstage for music videos, films and photo shoots, and a venue for concerts, comedy nights and private parties, all on a New York City street built indoors.

The neighborhood has been part of it from day one. We host workshops, giveaways and charity events, and our summer program gives Bronx students in grades 5 to 12 a real studio to find their voice in.

Now the program is joining forces with Thrive Collective, the New York City nonprofit, starting with our 2027 pilot season. Together we're adding music therapy and creative writing to the studio program. We're not replacing anything. We're building on it.

This is us. Whatever you're making, come make it on the block.
